Carol Garutti was born in Syracuse, New York. She was a music major in SUNY at Fredonia, NY, attended Syracuse University, and graduated with an AA from Brevard Community College in Cocoa, Florida. Carol and her husband, Angelo, have lived on Merritt Island since 1963.

Special Honors: Carol Garutti has won many awards for her artwork throughout the years. She was a NASA artist for Apollo 17 in 1972 and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year colleges.

Experience: Carol founded SunRay Studios, Inc in 1979, a silk-screening business with art studios and computer graphic services. Her shaped canvases and imaginative constructions of the 70’s and 80’s have been replaced with the technology of the 90’s ….computer-generated images. The works are presented as electronic still images on paper or as enlarged acrylic paintings on canvas. The artwork developed in 2001 incorporates computer designed backgrounds combined with panels from wrecked race cars.
