Becky Beerensson began art studies as a child at the Wichita Art Association in her hometown of Wichita, KS, and continued through high school. She received her Liberal Arts degree, in French and Political Science, and Masters Degree in French, from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. She spent her junior year abroad in Strasbourg, France.

She has lived in Brevard County, FL, since 1968. After teaching French for four years at Melbourne High School, she returned to artistic endeavors, focusing on drawing. Her style might be called enhanced realism, concentrating on composition, mood, and detail. Her medium is ink. Her technique has evolved over the years from pen and ink, with washes to today’s dry-brush technique, in which the ink is applied layer by layer to achieve an extensive range of values. She is drawn to contrasts and visual, as well as subject-matter. Her work has won numerous awards at juried exhibitions throughout the state.

She has also taught piano privately, and since 1982 has worked as a piano technician and musician performing on piano and harpsichord. She is married and has 2 grown sons.
